There cannot be a blanket law that all parents must be notified because the potential for more harm to the young woman must be taken into consideration. In all cases, the life of the woman must be protected. She is not just a carrier of a fetus with no rights. She has a right to life as well. | |||

| Large out-of-state corporations in Montana do not pay adequate taxes because there are so many loop holes they can use to reduce what they pay. They use our resources and infrastructure and do not pay their fair share. I favor lowering the business equipment tax for small, Montana owned businesses but not for large corporations since they do not pay other taxes as they should. | |||
| The financial future of the state depends on having a highly educated population. We need to make higher education as easy as possible for all who aspire to it. Increasing tuition and putting other obstacles in their way will be determental in the long run to the future of the state. State employees should not be asked to bear the burden of financial problems. | |||

| It is the job of government to protect the weak from the strong. As we can see in the national crisis we are facing, the strong preyed on the weak and the entire country is paying the price. We have to have regulations that make sure that large corporations cannot damage the economy and environment for their personal enrichment while the rest of us pay the price. Since I am a resident of Libby, I know a lot about corporate abuse and lack of adequate regulation. | |||

| As a former teacher, I can see no way to make a merit pay system work. A teacher is faced with recalcitrant students, indifferent parents, lack of time and resources and is held responsible for everything that s/he has no control over. Charter schools have been shown to be no better or worse than public schools are. It is the duty of state government to provide a good system of education for all its students -- which Montana has done -- beyond that we have no obligation. | |||
